OCULAR TRAUMA
Any injury to the eye due to mechanical trauma (blunt or penetrating), chemical or thermal burns, or exposure to radiation (ultraviolet or ionising).
After any injury to the eye, watch out for the following symptoms:
New floaters (black or red spots moving around in your visual field)- Flashes in the field of vision
- Restricted field of vision
- Double vision
- Eye clouding that runs like rain from top to bottom
- Sudden squinting
- Distorted vision
- Frequent headaches and dizziness
- Sudden vision loss
- Painful red eye
- Gritty foreign body feel
- When it seems like a curtain is closing over your eyes
