GLAUCOMA EXAM

The only sure way to diagnose glaucoma is with a comprehensive eye exam. A glaucoma screening that only checks intraocular pressure is simply not enough.

At the time of a glaucoma exam, your ophthalmologist will:

  • Record the eye pressure
  • Examine the eye's drainage angle
  • Assess the function and structure of the optic nerve, checking for significant damage.
  • Assess your peripheral (side) vision.
  • Capture an image or computer measurement of the optic nerve as part of monitoring Glaucoma.
