GLAUCOMA EXAM
The only sure way to diagnose glaucoma is with a comprehensive eye exam. A glaucoma screening that only checks intraocular pressure is simply not enough.
At the time of a glaucoma exam, your ophthalmologist will:
- Record the eye pressure
- Examine the eye's drainage angle
- Assess the function and structure of the optic nerve, checking for significant damage.
- Assess your peripheral (side) vision.
- Capture an image or computer measurement of the optic nerve as part of monitoring Glaucoma.
